Remember, the very first commandment? “Thou shalt have NO other gods before me; for I am a jealous God!” Some believe them to be the “Ten suggestions” and over the past few decades it seems many didn’t even acknowledge their existence.
But lets’ take a quick look at what this recent crisis has done to some of these “gods!”
The “Almighty dollar” doesn’t seem to be so “almighty” right now does it? And those who have sold Jesus out so they could “climb the executive ladder” are either unemployed, their business is closed or their world has turned into a whirlwind to say the least! Even the mouse Walt Disney created is shut down and if you are going to “keep up with the Jones”--- you have to at least stay 6 feet from them. I don’t care how many toilets you have in your house---you can’t find toilet paper!
Some of you can remember when stores weren’t open on Sunday. It was the Lord’s Day! We called them “Blue Laws”, now the stores are all closed and store owners are singing the blues. Did God cause covid 19---I don’t think so--- but He sure is using it!
And the schools which kicked Him out---well seems to me He has kicked them out and locked the doors behind them and oh---remember all those critics of homeschooling??? Well guess whose is homeschooling now---don’t tell me God doesn’t have a sense of humor! All hospitals have cancelled elective surgeries---and though Planned Parenthood is fighting to be declared “essential services”---God has a way of ending abortions even when man can’t! 3000 abortions a day in the U.S.---125,000 a day worldwide---and God has brought it to a screeching halt! By the way, have you ever seen the sorry display the young people display on “spring break?” That’s over too! The beaches are closed!
Bars closed, casinos closed---adult porn stores closed---movie theatres closed---Hollywood shut down---more people watching “on-line” ministries than ever before and even though I am sorry for true Bible believing Christians and gospel preaching churches---I haven’t shed any tears over the liberal’ non-Christ honoring false churches who have been closed! And guess what---families are eating and talking together!
While some still seem to be trying out for the lead role in the next Dumb and Dumber episode---thousands of examples of our goodness, patriotism and general caring have made the news over and over again! Good, Godly people are rising to the occasion!
God who many relegated to being a “last resort” seems to become the “first resort” to many! While many are asking if God caused this---He sure is using it for His Glory!
